Many will argue that NASA is a waste of resources for the United States. Under the leadership of Alex Nunez and John Reardon however, these people will be proven wrong.
If you've followed the Nunez/Reardon campaign, you've heard the phrase "Alex Nunez will put a man on Mars!"
You're God Damn Right he will.
America landed on the Moon in 1969 and hasn't been back since 1972. If we could go to the Moon with technology that is now considered outdated. So why haven't we been to Mars yet?
It's a common misconception that going to Mars would cost one trillion dollars. This is in fact not true, and is actually quite feasible with NASA's current budget. So why haven't we been to Mars yet?
The United States has put Rovers on the Red Planet. But is that enough? If America is going to take the next big step for humanity, then it has to be soon. Humanity has to establish a foothold outside of our own planet if we are to move forward as a species.
Some wonder "why is this important?" Well, why was it important for explorers of the past to seek out the unknown? If we don't push the boundaries of what we're capable of then what are we doing?
Earth's problems should always come first. 99% of our resources should be for helping the people here. However, we shouldn't cast aside our future. If we do, then we are surely doomed. Praise be unto Bob Saget.
